thrifty car rental is particuallry good if you are at the airport and need to get somewhere quickly and cant wait for a ride or dont want to inconvience some one else.

Watch your billing with the DFW location, they will charge your card without your authorization. I was there in July and they charge me a second time in September.

My Thrifty rental was fine, but when something was wrong with my bill I found out quickly how utterly horrendous their customer service department is. If you call three times, not only are you waiting for 45 minutes each call, you get three different answers to the same questions and oftentimes, a condensing tone. They had incorrectly billed me, and acknowledged it, but after MONTHS of trying to get refunded they still gave me the run around when I called back to inquire. I never enjoy calling customer service offices, but this was by far the WORST experience I have ever encountered – with regards to the complete incompetence of their employees, their attitudes, and their ability to actually help their customers. I am even on hold as I type, and have been for 40 minutes – only I’m sure to be met again with someone who has no idea how to help me. I would HIGHLY encourage everyone to use another car rental company, anywhere else has to be better than this…..

Overall, it was a satisfactory experience. I ordered a mid-size car but they didn't have any on the lot the day I picked it up so they upgraded me to a full-size for the same price. So that was a nice surprise. There was quite a bit of mileage already on the car though, and a few stains on the driver's seat...

this is the second time renting from the fredericksburg area thrifty car rental. I have mixed reviews but they apply to both times i rented from them. the overall rating I would consider to be satisfactory to fair. customer service seemed bored, non caring about their work but accommodating.
cost was much better in comparison to other car rental companies,
cleanliness was a problem each time and I had actually left both cars cleaner when dropping them off than when i first received them.
the first time was so dirty, i asked for a different car.
the second time i rented(just yesterday), the outside was okay, but the inside still is dirty and stunk really bad. a friend that rode in it commented that it smelled like a urinal deodorizer tablet. it was very strong and we laughed because it was honestly the closest you can come to describing how it smelled. thank goodness it subsided mostly after having the windows down for the first couple days we used it.
so other than this, it was fine. i will rent from them again but this time i will take the time to check the car in the daylight and also smell it, including checking the gas gauge, which I had forgotten to check and was not filled completely.
