Calling Volente Beach a "water park" is like calling Jack in the Box a "fine dining establishment." If you were to take the Schlitterbahn water park and divide it into, say, 200 pieces, then one of those pieces would be the size of Volente Beach

The scam begins when you park, because you pay $5 to park in a dirt lot in the middle of nowhere, when in fact there is plenty of other parking if you just drive around a bit. We purchased ticket at The Randalls?? Grocery store for 16.23 each! And yes one of those tickets was for my 9 year old who was considered an adult because of her height of 48?.

This place has one pool for young children, one for everyone else, and four relatively short and unimpressive slide-like things that are fed by a single staircase. The pool for older kids has exactly one slide that is three feet long. Oh, and they have something they call a "beach," which is some sand that they hauled in that overlooks a bunch of rocks, steel cables, broken glass, and one of the less attractive parts of the lake. And that, my friends, is Volente Beach.

Even though the place wasn't that busy when we went, since there is essentially nothing to do everyone crams into the pool. It was nearly impossible to move around -- don't even think about swimming - and the water was disgustingly filthy, pumped directly from Lake Travis. When my girls went more than about six inches underneath the water, I could no longer see them. For those of you, who are parents, think about how much fun that is - to have your child disappear under filthy water with hundreds of people around. And, the fun doesn't stop; you then get to worry for weeks, wondering exactly what your kids may have caught from that filthy Lake Travis water.

And just when I thought it could not get any worse, a lifeguard told my daughter that even though she was tall enough to go down the Texas Twister she did not weigh enough (100 pounds). She was traumatized; she had been down the Texas Twister all morning and thought she had broken the rules. The sad thing is that she had been the only one singled out and several children less than 100 hundred pounds went after her. When I asked why those children had been allowed to go down the Texas Twister I was told by one of the Lifeguards that if the children lie to them (the lifeguards) then they have to let the children ride.

This same 9 year old, who is the type who could have fun just about anywhere no matter what, aptly summarized the place as "boring." There was little for her to do there, and quite frankly there isn't much for anyone of any age. I totally regret having gone there, even though I read other reviews that were negative. Trust me: Save your money and go somewhere else.

I'm not sure as to why people are so negative about this place...there is plenty do on a hot Saturday. The price may be a little more expensive than I would have liked but they offer so many coupons that you can easily get a discount. They also offer a senior discount as well as military. For those of you who are looking for a half day trip they offer a twilight special where EVERYONE gets in for 11.99.

For the stuff to do they have four slides that will keep the kids busy for hours. For little kids they offer a kiddie pool which is a huge pirate ship surrounded by water sprays and a pool. They also have access to the lake which is more like the beach as it has sand. They have a pool with an aqua park to climb on and aligator crossing. For the littler ones who are feeling left out about the slides there is a small frog slide for those ones.

Now, let's say you're hungry or thirsty, there is a sundowner grill with excellent food, (even veggie burgers and turkey burgers), there is also the blue parrot that offers another selection of adult drinks and food. You are also allowed to bring your own coolers with yummy lunches.

The marina is just a few steps away to rent jet skis and boats to take the kids on all while being able to come in and out of the park.

I know this is a long review, I just couldn't figure out why people are so down about a family owned safe place to visit.

This place is a huge disappointment. It is expensive (anyone over about 5 years old pays adult prices) and, most importantly, THERE IS ALMOST NOTHING TO DO! We left after a short period of time because the kids we bored.

There is a place called RockN River in Round Rock that is as good as this dump but only costs a few dollars. Or, pay a few dollars more and go to Schlitterbahn. But, seriously, stay away from this place.

Pros: The lifeguards are attentive

Cons: Most everything: cost, poor maintenance, nothing to do

.

Great place if you need somewhere reasonable to spend the day for younger kids. they have a few rides and you can definately keep your eyes on what the kids are doing.

Pros: small waterslides

Cons: not much for older kids

Do not go to Volente Beach if your child is older than 8. There are only two rides for older children. The rest of the park is for toddlers.

During a drought, the lake is so low that you can barely access it from Volente Beach. There was no "beach"...only rocks that led down quite a ways to an extremely shallow and small swimming area. It is impossible to enjoy the lake from here. I'm sure that is not the case when the lake is full.

On a Saturday, concession stands closed at 6. Trash cans were never emptied, providing an attraction for hundreds of bees. The grounds were dirty and not maintained. The rides looked like they could use a good coat of paint as well.

Since you couldn't sit by the lake, I had to sit by the kiddie pool while my kids rode the two rides. The chairs by this pool were worse than something you would get at the Dollar Store. Very flimsly and unfomfortable. And I was buzzed by bees the entire time.

We paid $55 for three of us, and my kids were bored with this park in less than one hour. I can't emphasis enough that there are only two rides for kids over the age of 8. Take advantage of their after 4:30pm half-price specials as the price goes down to $10.99. Ten bucks is all this place is worth.

Only two of the three slides were open. If you enjoy gravel/large rock beaches and don't mind swimming with water bottle wrappers, hot pocket microwave sleeves, and assorted other trash, then this place is for you. If you like the look of the water trampoline or other climbing apparatus in the lake area, be prepared to wait since they only allow four people in the water at one time. Two life guards are present but for some unknown reason could only watch 4 people at a time. And when we were there, July 21st, one of the life guards *on duty* was jumping off someone's private boat at the marina. He wasn't doing a lot of water monitoring.

If you like to get soused while your children are playing in pools or the lake, then you will love this place. I guess one of the highlights of our visit there was the over 40 year old mom *treating* everyone to a lap dance on one of the picnic tables. Again, if this is what you're looking for in a place to take your children, then you will not be disappointed.

If cost is a factor, save all your money for Schlitterbahn. It is worth every extra dollar, and then some. And I was in no way expecting this place to measure up to Schlitterbahn, but for $20 a ticket, I had every right to expect more. At $20 a ticket they should provide volleyballs to use in the sand pit area and pool without requiring your driver's license as collateral.

Just look at the reviews of those giving it 3 or more stars and you will see that they are old reviews. This place seems to have really gone downhill over the last few years.

We loved it! There was so much to do, but not too much! Many shaded areas for relaxing and great food! Burgers were so huge that for the $9.00 charge, 2 of us shared!

We went back to my husbands company party and loved the catering dept! The food was great, prompt, and we booked for next year already!

You have to go and visit the Blu Parrot bar and restaurant too! Great food, drinks and live music! They are open weekend even now!

My family and I have gone to Volente Beach once on our own and twice at a company function. We were unhappy with the outrageous prices, terrible food, and bad customer service. At our last function the food came out 2 hours late and was almost inedible. We asked for a refund and they offered free pass to the park for another day. Why would we want to go back to a place that we did not enjoy?? They have a NO refund policy which in my opinion is not great customer service!

We went here one time for a birthday party so we didn't pay admission, but it still was too expensive. There just isn't enough stuff to do. After an hour my kids were begging to go home. About the nicest thing it has going for it is the sand beach it has on one of our local lakes. Instead of cutting your feet on the sharp granite rocks located at every other place on the lake where you can get in, you can run around bare-footed just like at any other beach. They also have an alcohol cart that will bring the party to you if you choose.

I love the concept of Volente Beach Club, but find the prices on admission and concessions to be a bit out of whack. The last time I took the kids, there were too many kids/parents there to enjoy any of the attactions. I made the mistake of trying to feed the kids there and almost had a stroke when I got the bill. Fun place if you can get your money's worth.

We visited Volente Beach several times this past summer and we pleased each time. Its a small park with only a few rides but the lines and wait times are not that long. I think its great for families with small children; its not so overwhelming as some of the bigger water parks. Be sure to pack a lunch and snacks. The snack bar was a little pricey for the food quality.

If you are looking for a way to spend the day with family and friends in the water and sun, then this is a way to go. This is a small, but fun water park. It does not compare in size and variety to Schlitterbahn water park...but the price is right and you don't have to stand in line for hours to ride on ride.

If you have got a child with a summer birthday this is a great place to go to celebrate. The price is in comparison with other places you may have a party at and you get a lot included in the party package. It's also cheaper than driving to another city to go to a bigger waterpark. There is a lot to do for all ages. My son loves the pirate ship and could slide down the slide a million times, in fact I think he did!. The staff are friendly and the lifeguards monitor the children well. Food is allowed in the park or you can buy it there which is quite expensive. They have a "beach" area that the children enjoyed building sandcastles at and you can rent jet skis to ride out in the lake.

PROS: Great for parties

My family loves coming here each summer. Great place to visit for all ages. The pricing is pretty good definitely a lot cheaper than the bigger water parks in other towns. I think their food could be less but since they allow you to bring in food I can't complain too much. Friendly atmosphere and tons of fun! The lifeguards seem to monitor the patrons well and handle problems appropriately when they arise. The parking is quite far from the location. It seems longer at the end of the day when everyone is tired and does not want to walk to the car.

PROS: Lots of fun!
CONS: Can get crowded, but to be expected

My husband didn't think this would be good at all. We were wanting to go to a water park with the kids, but didn't have the time to drive somewhere larger. Volente beach turned out to be a blast! There are coupons available that make it very inexpensive. You can bring your own picnic/snacks and so it isn't draining on your wallet! They have lots of fun places for the kids and a few really nice slides to even inspire some adult fun! We had a wonderful time.

PROS: close, fun, family friendly
CONS: not as many slides as larger parks

This water park is great, my husband's company has been having their company picnic here for the last three years. They have water slides, pools, volleyball courts, and a beach on lake Travis. The kiddie area is great with little waterslides and waterfalls. This is a great place to go cool off on a hot summer day.

A great place on Lake Travis to go relax and have a fun day with the kids and family. Volente Beach is nowhere near as big as Schlitterbahn in New Braunsfels, but it is close to home and still offers tons of rides! It is very crowded, but still feels relaxing. The price is affordable, and the parking is close by and easy to get. It is best to come early and stay late-lots of sunscreen too!

Volente Beach Water Park is right down the road from Austin, right on the Lake. They have water slides, pools, a kiddie pool with an awesome pirate ship, and Jacuzzis. The price is great for such a cool place, there is plenty of parking and it is easy to find. Next time you are in Austin come check it out!

I recently went with some friend to Volente Beach and was impressed with the beach itself. There's 3 1/2 acres of beach! I thought it was going to be lame but I had a great time. The restaurant was better than I thought. We got there at 3 pm and was told later if we had waited until 4 we could have gotten in for 1/2 price. I'll go back and take my 3 year next time, she'll enjoy that!

PROS: Lots of beach - Water Slides - Pirate Pool - Playscape
