Animal Emergency Care Center was there when my pet had a terrible accident last week. My dog Sadie fell into the pool and became hypothermic and started to seizure. Without hesitation they brought her into the treatment area and stabilized her without even asking for a single dollar of payment. Dr. Chapman, came out and allowed me to see her and went over her prognosis. After 2 hours she was doing much better and I took her to her normal vet the following day. Terrible experience, but they handled it like pros. I don't believe some of the bad reviews as this emergency hospital has always been kind, caring and very reasonable priced. Just my two cents. Sadie and I are very thankful for the care received at this hospital

Went there once awhile back and the Dr. seeing my dog was awful.
I didn't catch her name but I left because I didn't trust my precious cargo with her.
Forced to return over weekend recently because of odd hour.
David the tech was AWESOME.
Dr. Guinn was excellent.
Then the shift changed.
Dr. Brown is terrible.
Obnoxious, unsympathetic, rude and most importantly?
Largely incompetent.
Overall experience?
Hit or miss experience depending on who sees you.
Very pricey.
Wouldn't be my first or even third choice except in a dire emergency and they were closest.

Best of breed. Live in Woodland Hills and would take my pet to nobody else in the event of an emergency. Caring and compassionate. Care more about my pets health that collecting money. After having a recent bad experience at another Woodland Hills pet emergency vet, I have found the best animal emergency center in the area. thanks for being there after hours and holidays.

I guess if you have a dog that has been hit by a car this is where to go but if you have a kitten that has URI - I would not recommend. The vet I saw did nothing except prescribe antibotics and made it sound like my kitten was going to die but then released us with no real recommendations of what to do. I had to ask a bunch of questions which were answered in a very clinical way. I have been up all night with my sick kitten and am going to have to take him to his real vet when they open first thing this morning. What a waste of time and a RIP OFF! The only good thing about this place was the receptionist, she was nice and she was more helpful than the vet. They gave me antibotics that are for dogs not cats so I'm afraid to even give my kitten that though they said its okay.

Took my young mastiff in last week for a bad ear infection. I was seen right away. The vet wasn't afraid or intimidated by the large size of my pet dog who's big but a teddy bear. The staff was friendly and professional. After a bad experience at another local pet emergency clinic in woodland hills, I am happy to report that Animal Emergency and Critical Care was a pleasure to bring my pet to. Hands down you guys are the best animal emergency center in the west valley.

After a good friend recommended Animal Emergency and Critical care in Woodland Hills, I had an opportunity to utilize their services when my dog was run over by a friends car. I rushed her into the emergency hospital was seem fast. 2 nurses helped me carry my screaming pet into the emergency treatment room. They immed. gave her pain medicine and the female doctor was looking at her injuries within minutes. Money never came up until she was stable. They 100 percent cared about her pain and stabilization prior to giving me an estimate. FIRST CLASS and caring is how I would describe the animal hospital in a true emergency. Im a believer in Animal Emergency and Critical Care. 2 days later a surgical hosp next door repaired her broken upper back leg bone. So far shes going well! First class, caring and very thorough is how I would describe this emergency hospital. Thanks for helping me out in a true animal crisis.

Great, great, great. Thanks so much helping my cat out 2 weeks ago when she got into some poison. After 2 days in the hospital she came home 100 percent normal. Great staff, nurses and the vet was incredible. A little costly, but worth the extra care given her. Thanks Guys! I will recommend you to to all my friends.

I live in West Hills and wanted to thank Animal Emergency and Critical Care of Woodland Hills for saving my cats life last week.
I woke up to find my male cat unable to pee. I rushed him into Animal Critical Care and they unblocked the blockage of his little penis. They told me had I waited any longer he would of died. the though of my little guy leaving me makes me nausea. Just wanted to thank the staff of Animal Critical and emergency care.

Animal Emergency and Critical Care of Woodland Hills, Ca provides after hour emergencies to people living in the Woodland Hills area. They have been in business for over 20 years and in my experience their care is SECOND to none. I have never had a bad experience bringing my pets to them and for an after hours vet their prices are very competitive. I highly recommend Animal Emergency and Critical Care in Woodland Hills if you should need after hours pet emergency care. Good luck. God Bless.

Great staff. Unlike other local pet emergency facilities in Woodland Hills, Animal Emergency and Critical Care isn't all about the $$. I have been utilizing their services for over 5 years, and never had a problem. Yes pet medicine is expensive and sometimes there is a wait, but the vets are competent and loving and my new fav. vet Jeff Chapman is the absolute best. Just wanted to let other pet owners know about how wonderful Animal Emergency and Critical Care is. Thanks.

Very impressed with the staff and vet on my first visit. I don't recall the female vets name, but she was kind, considerate and seemed like she really cared about the health and well being of my pet Boxer. The facility was impressive and they offered me a tour including some new high tech equipment recently purchased. Unlike other pet emergency hospitals in close proximity I came away with a good feeling that my pet was getting the best care possible. Just wanted to drop a thank you note to Animal Emergency and Critical Care of Woodland Hills.

My cat and I thank Dr. Chapman at Animal Emergency Center of Woodland Hills for saving her life last year. She swallowed some yarn and became very sick and dehydrated. Then came Dr. Chapman to the rescue to perform surgery and save her life. I tell all my friends and neighbors in Tarzana about the wonderful pet emergency work at Animal Critical Care Center of Woodland Hills. Thanks to all the staff from Julie and Precious!

I will never forget the great work that Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills did on my dog in a pet emergency. Thank u folks.

Just wanted to drop you guys a note saying how grateful I am for your great service. I work long hours and often need to bring my 2 dogs in to a vet late at night. Last month I had a bad experience at a Vet Emergency facility west of here. The vet there didn't even touch my pet and seemed more interested in getting a big estimate in my hands. I will never take my dogs to any other pet emergency center other than Animal Critical Care Center of Woodland Hills. Just wanted to say thanks to the caring vet and wonderful staff.

Nothing to say but thanks for being there when my pet was hit by a car two weeks ago. She has now had 2 broken bones repaired at ASEC in West LA. The ASEC vets said Animal Critical Care saved her life. All I have to say is thanks a million for saving my beloved pets life!

I brought my Abby in 1 week ago for a serious bladder infection and my hero Dr. Champman fixed him up. I awoken to Jerry our kitty urinating blood all over the bathroom. I immed. brought him into Animal Critical Care down the street. I was seen without hesitation and they fixed him up. I admit it was expensive, but what animal emergency center open on Sunday morning wouldn't be. I would of spent any amount of money. What really impressed me was the competency and warmth the staff and especially Dr. Chapman demonstrated toward me and my kitty. Thanks soooooo much.

I trust Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills with my pets life. Friendly, never a long wait, and the costs are very reasonable for a vet hospital. The new vet Jeff Champman is amazing and always calls back the next day to see how my kitty is doing.

Animal Emergency Care Center in Woodland Hills ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY. I brought my pet poodle in for a small cut on her leg, and they tried to charge me $1,800 to fix it. They could not have cared less about my pet. Instead, they kept asking for my credit card. This place is ONLY HUNGRY FOR YOUR MONEY.... Beware

Kudos to Animal Critical Care for helping my pet lab last night.
Momo our 4 yr old lab starting peeing blood. I called several pet emergency hospitals and Animal Critical Care was the only one that spent some time discussing the problem and NOT BRINGING UP THE COST ISSUE! I jumped in the car and drove from West Hills to Woodland Hills and she was examined by a vet who's name is Jeff Chapman. She loved him. Dr. Chapman even got on the ground to examine her and kissed her on the lips. Smack! I was so impressed with the care at Animal Critical Care and Dr. Chapman. Momo is much better today and I will plan to use Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills if we ever have an animal emergency.

My first experience was so pleasant I wanted to write a good review about Animal Critical emergency service. I called my vet last week in the evening and they were closed but referred my to Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills. I was greeted promptly and friendly. After seeing a very nice female vet (forgot her name), they presented me with a very reasonable estimate. My cat was vomiting and they did a blood and xray test. They diagnosed her with furballs that were stuck in the stomach. The vet DIDN'T want to rush to surgery, but sent me home on Laxatone. In 36 hours she was back to normal. I was so pleased that they didn't try to rip me off by suggesting surgery. A neighbor went to an emergency hospital farther west and told me the vets work on commission therefore are always recommending expensive tests and surgery, thus not giving people with moderate incomes a second option. Thank God for Animal Critical cares great work and I plan to recommend them whenever I can.

Hands down! Best pet emergency clinic in the valley. I read all of these stupid bad comments and it makes me angry. They have been my animal emergency center for 10 years and I haven't had a single issue with them. My vet always compliments the treatment that my pets receive at Animal Critical Care Center in Woodland Hills. I highly recommend Animal Critical Care if your pet needs emergency night time help. Keep up the good work!

Very pleasant first experience. The place was warm and friendly. The staff even gave me a tour of the hospital prior to me letting them do surgery. There was a little wait due to a critical dog that was just brought it. My pet came home the next morning and seemed very happy. The surgery went well, and my regular vet Dr. Kunin said Animal Critical Care did a great job and is an excellent animal emergency center. Just my opinion. Would highly recommend them again.

ps. thanks Dr. Chapman for being so nice to my golden retriever.

Great service. Kind people. They are always there to help out in a pinch. The new vet Dr. Chapman is terrific. Late last night my cat got into another fight so I tried a new animal emergency center down the street. They wanted $1800 to repair her usual annual cat fight abscess. I declined the estimate and brought her into Animal Emergency and Critical Care in Woodland Hills and like usual they fixed her up lickity split. and not for $1800 but for $782.56. Thanks Animal Critical Care for once again being there when I have a pet emergency in Woodland Hills.

After a bad experience at another local animal emergency center, I brought my pet to Animal Emergency Center of Woodland Hills last night for a a pet emergency. They were recommend to me by a friend. It was my first experience in a true crisis when our dog started vomiting late at night. I was very impressed with the kindness and expertise exhibited by the vet. The staff was very friendly. There was a bit of a wait, as it was busy but a tech came out to make sure my pet was stable. I would absolutely return to Animal Emergency and Critical Care in Woodland Hills if I ever experience another pet emergency. Hopefully not.

Last weekend I rushed my cat to Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills for an emergency. My cat Fred had a stone in his penis and couldn't urinate. Animal Critical Care was terrific and fantastic. They took in Fred right away and saved his life. His health seemed MORE important than getting $ from me. They updated me the entire weekend. I took Fred to my regular vet on Monday am and they said Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills did a great job. I will continue to use and recommend Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills for any pet emergency I have. Just wanted to say thanks.

I have seen Dr. Chapman at Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills several times for emergencies with my 4 pet labs. He is absolutely the BEST VET I have ever used. I have seen Dr. Chapman at Animal Critical Care of Woodland Hills several times for emergencies with my 4 pet labs. He is absolutely the BEST VET I have ever used. The facility is clean and the staff are always so easy to deal with. I would highly recommend Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills for an animal emergency. Just my opinion, but all my neighbors use this emergency hospital also.

Don't understand the few bad reviews. I rushed my Great Dane to Animal Critical Care last week for a bloat. They started treatment without delay. The vet Dr. Chapmen even came out to the car to help my pet into the hospital. The service was world class and the employees really seemed to care. Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills is the best pet emergency facility I have ever used, and would recommend them any time.

My experience can be summarized as horrible! Long wait, rude receptionist... A doctor who could have cared less, except for MONEY MONEY MONEY. Let's do this test and that test... Oh, when I got to my regular vet the next day, guess what he said - "Those tests were completely not needed. They are expensive and excessive. Thanks for nothing.

Nothing but good experiences in the last 5 years. I work late hours and often have to use an after hours pet emergency center.
I love Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills. There is a new doctor named Jeff Chapman who is kind and seems to really care about the pet. They never act like "money hungry" when I walk in. My opinion is Animal Critical Care Center of Woodland Hills is the best PET/ANIMAL emergency vet hospital. I would trust none others. Good Luck to all, and may good bless on the 4 legged animals.

Had to take my cat in on a emergency basis. Dr. Chapman was the attending vet and was incredible. He saved his life when his bladder became obstructed and almost died. I found the cost to be very reasonable compared to a bad experience down the street at another animal emergency center. I think Animal Critical Care is the best emergency animal vet hospital in Woodland Hills. I have told all my friends.

Animal Critical Care was there when I needed them. Dr. Chapman is the best! I have lived in Woodland Hills for more than 15 years and I think Animal Critical Care is the best animal emergency center in Woodland Hills. They are compassionate and always seem more concerned about my pets care than money. I have 2 neighbors that had bad experiences at another local animal emergency center in Woodland Hills and I referred them to Animal Critical Care Center of Woodland Hills. Thanks from Jack.

Very compassionate and professional care during an emergency. We have use Animal Critical Care many time in the past few years, and they are second to none. Last month our dog fractured a leg in a fall and once again they were there to help. Never seeming concerned about money, unlike other local vet emergency hospital. The next day he had leg surgery next door at Vetsurg and I'm happy to report the little guy is doing fantastic. Thanks and cuddos to Animal Critical Care vet emergency work in Woodland Hills.

I was very impressed with the way Animal Critical Care handled my dogs emergency last month. Our Border Collie was hit by a car and broke 2 bones in his rear leg. I remembered my vet telling me to use them in an emergency. I rushed him into the hospital. 2 employees came out to the car and helped bring him in. His condition and treatment seemed to be of more concern than getting a deposit or payment. I remember another incident at a local emergency hospital where they wouldn't even speak to me without a $1000 up front deposit. Dr. Champman was the vet on duty and was AMAZING. I wish he were my own doctor. I left our pet in the hospital overnight and they splinted his leg and referred me to an amazing animal surgeon called Vetsurg right next door. Hes doing great and starting to use the affected leg, thanks to the great emergency vet care at Animal Critical Care and Vetsurg. Thanks guys from Tommy and his family.

The absolute best vet emergency center in Woodland Hills. Having lived in the area for 10 years and needed emergency animal care several time, I would take our pets no where else but Animal Critical Care. I have never heard a neighbor complain about the care and 5 years ago they saved our cats like when she was attacked by a coyote. Thank you Animal Critical Care for the best pet emergency in Woodland Hills.

This place has high prices, and I was not impressed with the service or the care my pet received. I think long waiting in a small cramped waiting room, is the pits. I would look elsewhere, anywhere.

I brought my cat to Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills and was HORRIFIED. When I walked in, it was dirty. They took my cat to the back, and when I visited, the hospital was so run down and it smelled bad. The doctor was OK. The staff did not look professional, and I did not have any confidence in them. I would not bring my pet back unless I absolutely had to.

Animal Critical Care is THE BEST.. Fantastic vets. great service and the prices are very reasonable for vet medicine. I love the new vet Dr. Chapman. I found out about them after a very bad experience at Vet Spec of the Valley where I was treated terribly by incompetent vets and ripped off big time. My advice is to AVOID Vet Spec of the Valley and ONLY USE Animal Critical Care and Winnetka and Ventura.

This place was DIRTY!! When I went in with my dog; pet hair and urine in the lobby. It was in a strip mall, and smelled bad. The doctor was RUDE to me. He did not answer my questions, kept me waiting, and when I went in back to visit my dog, the place looked like something from the mid century. I felt that their prices were very high for the services offered. I left with over a $500 bill and felt nothing was done.

Animal Critical Care was there when I had a crisis. They are the absolute best!!! Last week my dog was hit by a car and broke a rear leg. I immed. took him to Animal Critical Care in Woodland Hills and was seen PRONTO. A fantastic vet named Dr. Chapman treated him and was very kind and understanding and calmed me down as well. The next day I picked him up and we went to Vet Surg in Woodland Hills where they placed a pin in his leg. Hes doing fine and should be walking normally in a couple of months.. Many thanks to Dr.Chapman at Animal Critical Care Center

My dog was hit by a car around 7 p.m and by that time we just needed any place to go so we took her there. The staff was so uncaring and instead of making my dog their priority instead they were just showing me their prices of her staying there over night. We determined she needed surgery so we took her home and they gave us medicine for the pain. She didn't make the night due to internal bleeding. Something they never mentioned even being a possibility. So I was stuck with a $700 bill for x-rays of my dead best friend!!!

One of our cats had a urinary tract blockage and needed assistance ASAP. We had recently moved to the area and had not yet found a regular vet. I took in our cat Saturday morning with a good understanding of what the drill would be since another of our cats had a similar problem several years before. They said they would run some tests, give him some medicine to relieve the blockage, put a catheter in and monitor him overnight, which is what I expected, but the estimate of $1500-1800 was not!I make a few calls throughout the day to check on status and I get the feeling that me checking on my cat is somewhat of an inconvenience. But after checking, they claim my cat "is doing good".I call in early morning to see how he was doing and if I could pick him up. After being on hold for a while, they come back and say they just took the catheter out and want to monitor him a little more, to call back late afternoon.I get a call around 3pm on Sunday saying to call back. When I do call back, I am greeted by the front desk lady, who says she wants to confirm my new quote and that I had to pick him up the next day. New quote? Next day? Had to ask for the vet in order to figure what is going on. Turns out my cat was not peeing on his own and they had to drain his bladder again. Now they want to keep monitoring him but I have to pick him up Monday morning by 8 because they close and I would have to take him to a regular vet.New estimate, $2400-2800 but they wouldn't do anything but monitor him. Sure am in the wrong line f work if you can charge about $50/hour for someone t check if my cat has peed or not!We decided to take the cat back and monitor him ourselves and we will be taking him to another vet recommended by a friend first thing Monday. In addition, the vet never talked to us about any of the test results or what proper foll-up care would be.Two days, one drained bladder 36 hours of monitoring and we're out $2100 and still have to take our cat to another vet. My feel while being there is that they cared much more about the estimates, deposits and payments than the well being of the animal. They will just do anything to milk your wallet, keep away.

If you want your cat to die, then take her to these completely uncaring people.

It was late and I couldn't wait for her Vet to open in the morning so I brought her to this 24 hour clinic. Never in my life have I experienced people who were so uncaring.

I'm not a poor person, to say the least, but I would never expect to be presented with a bill when my cat died before the doctor even came into the room. This, after waiting for at least an hour. After she died, and still no Doctor in site, I tool my beloved cat out of the clinic only to be followed by a desk clerk asking me to pay a bill.

I still can't figure out what the bill was for since my cat didn't even get a chance to be treated.

Had I taken her to a more caring clinic my cat would probably be alive today. At very least her life would have been extended.

My dog had not been feeling well and I was going to take her to the vet the next morning but then at 1:00 in the morning she suddenly was crying and was not very responsive at all. I rushed her to this vet, carrying her in because she could not walk, and told them all of her symptoms - she had bleeding coming from her vagina, had been throwing up, was having trouble breathing, etc. I could tell that she was in critical condition and all that they said that they were going to do is monitor her. They then left me in a room with my dying dog for over half an hour while they prepared the bill before they were even going to help her. I finally came out of the room to see what was taking so long and pleaded with them that they needed to treat her now - not in the morning when a regular vet opened. The doctor (if you would call her that) just snottily said that she had already told me that they would only monitor her and then told me that they did not want my business. I pleaded that she needed help now but the doctor was very cold and unresponsive so I picked up my dog and carried her out to desperately try to take her to a doctor that would actually try to help her. As I leaving, their parting words were "Excuse me - you owe us $75.00!". My dog died shortly after we left. It was a traumatic and surreal experience to take your beloved pet to someone that is supposed to be there to help animals and be treated so coldly and uncaring. This vet did not care about what would happen to this little innocent animal and just let her die! They showed absolutely no compassion for me either as a pet owner faced with losing a pet that we loved dearly. All they cared about was money. This was obvious in the fact that they left me waiting with my dying dog for over half an hour while they prepared the bill before they even were going to help her. They obviously waited too long!

I was very pleased with the care my cat received here. The doctor was compassionate and explained everything thoroughly. The support staff was professional, friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. I never would have thought I would ever need the services of an emergency hospital for my pet but I'm glad that my experience was a good one.

You hope you never need this place, but when your pet has a real emergency, you'll be glad they're there. We had a dog with cancer who suddenly went blind from swelling behind his retinas and this place saw him immediately and treated him kindly, but his illness agressively. I'd recommend other pet owners here in case of emergency.
