Let's just say that Belmont Dental needs to review the orthodontist that works there! This place is a joke! In October of 2007, I took my son to get his braces---after many visits he finally got his braces on. But only to have wires coming out of his mouth, they have no emergency staff like they say they do! I wasted my time and money which was refunded to me and now they have the audacity to send me to collections for their so called ortho work on my son. I ended up taking my son to another ortho, which was god sent. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!! DON'T TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO BELMONT DENTAL UNLESS YOU WANT BAD SERVICE AND YOU DON'T CARE THAT YOU WILL HAVE AN UN EXPERIENCED ORTHODONTIST!!!

After a cleaning and exam that last almost three hours, both my husband and I were told we needed deep cleanings, had early stages of gum disease, and other crap that somehow totaled over $1500. We said no way and left...only to see Yelp and Citysearch reviews that validated that we were not the only ones they have tried to rip off! Apparently just about every one that comes through this office is upsold to a number of different services they do not need. While they may appear friendly, it's only because they want to calm you before they take you for all you can give. STAY AWAY!

I have a fear of dentist and decided to go to the dentist because i was having pain. When i meet dr. sood i asked her if she could fix my teeth and use the nitrous. The dr. said they dont use nitrous in the office. I replied to the Dr. that i specificly asked for it when i called on the phone and i wouldnt let her touch me with out it because i have such a great fear . the dr started questioning me with do you know who told you that? did you get there name ? what day did you call ? and i said no . so she got up and told me if i could wait while she went to talk to the the staff about who told me that the office uses nitrous. I had to stop her , i said NO,NO,NO !!! ... Now wait a minute i dont want you to go boil out your staff about who said what, it does not matter!! What i want is for you to help me figure out what i should do now . where can i go to have it done that does use nitrus. i didnt have a good experience with her i could see right away her main concerned was with boiling out the staff rather then helping me to figure out where i can have my dental work done since i cant have any work done in an office with out nitrous.

I'm writing to complain about the quality of professional dental service at Belmont dental. The English language is incapable of describing my utter disgust at the gall, the receptionist, the accountant and the dentists have exercised in selling and providing such an unmitigated miserable service. I am writing this review today to let everyone know that they should never walk into this place. It??s apparent that Belmont Dental does not care about Patients but their service is aimed at selfish monetary gains.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr Dhillon. I was a patient of his in his Palo Alto office and followed him tho Bright Now Belmont. This office is horrible, yes I agree. Part of the reason he left way back in 2005 I assume. Unfortunately he is now working to far for me to commute. But for those complaints made more recently Dr Dhillon is no longer practicing at Bright Now and hasn't since 2005. I think those who aren't happy with the billing and insurance payments need to take it up with the financial coordinator there in my experience the dentist doesn't really have a lot to do with this side of things. But for future refernce I would avoid any corporation dental office such as Bright Now they do suck! The patient often suffers as much as the dentist hence the high staff turn over.

Dr Randeep Dhillon helped me with a wonderful tooth filling in approximately December 2002. I think the filling is still fine. He did not charge me for the filling. Dr Randeep, if you read this you can contact me and I will be able to repay the money I owe you. I tried to contact you at your Birch address as well as Bright Now Dental but due to privacy policies I was not given your contact information. Wishing you all the best and the happiness you deserve.

Warm Regards,
Dilys Thomas

I had a very pleasant experience at this office. The Doctor and the staff are very professional and explained all the procedures well in advance. I had also taken my kids to the Dentist for their first dental check up and they had a very positive experience. I had no problems w.r.t to billing and I have referred many friends to this office . They too have been very happy with the treatment received. The doctor is very friendly and patient. She is more than happy to explain and answer any questions about the treatment.Sarah

Never have I felt so ripped off by a health care provider.

After finding Bright Now Dental in Belmont from my providers website (Guardian Dental Guard Network), I called in for a clean & check-up.

After X-Rays & examination, Dental Doctor Sarika Sood DDS informed me that my gums were infected and I required 'deep-cleaning' and needed an anti-biotic gel called 'Arestin' which costs $40 . I asked if the Arestin was optional and by what percentage it would improve my chance of recovery - she responded by suggesting that it was basically a mandatory procedure for me.

I was injected with an anaesthetic and the dentist proceeded to perform a deep-clean scrape. Five minutes into the clean (after the injections and with a numb mouth), the branch manager rushed in to have me sign the bill for my treatment (While I was in the chair in the middle of the procedure!).

The bill was not the insured clean + checkup cost like I was expecting.

It was $2,945! I was liable for $502 out of my pocket after insurance!

At this point, I became rather distressed and (Not being able to talk properly due to the anaesthetic in my mouth) asked for justification from Dr Sood. She calmly and confidently explained that I had Ten teeth with 'Perio-Dental Disease' gaps between the gums which required Arestin and that the Drug would cost me $40 per dose (The insurable cost is $198 per dose - which is basically a few millimeters of gel that get's inserted between your gum & tooth and according to the fine print in the brochure, gives you a 25% better chance of recovery).

I felt pressured into accepting the recommendation and signed the bill.

At my second appointment, I met another new customer who had just moved here. She was also coming in for a second appointment and confided that she was hit up for $6,000 worth of work the previous week when she had just come in for a checkup & clean. I also noticed brochures -everywhere- within the clinic promoting OraPharma's 'Arestin' antibiotic Gel.

This whole experience prompted me to email a good friend from back home who is also a Dentist. His response was:

Regarding the dentist, it seems as if your gums are infected. People who dont have holes in their teeth usually have something wrong with their gums so dont be alarmed. It can happen due to stress, smoking, poor oral hygiene which may be understandable given the amount of traveling you've done. Anyway, it is a mild infection and the dentist has done the correct thing in doing full mouth x-rays and cleaning. However, seeing as it is a mild disease and you are a relatively healthy young individual, you should be able to recover without the need for any adjunctive treatment ie that Arestin stuff. It is basically an antibiotic injected straight into the gums to assist with healing, however, we would only use it if cleaning is not successful the first time round. Nevertheless, I think that if you improve your oral hygiene practices, things will improve without the need for the antibiotics. What your dentist should be doing is putting time to instruct you on how to keep your mouth clean so this doesn't happen again. If he doesn't, its negligent and you should find another dentist and take a copy of your record with you including x-rays (the original belongs to the dentist).

After being ripped off like this, I will not be visiting this dentist or practice again!
