This is a fun place to go for a relaxing afternoon or for an event. Our friends had a small outdoor wedding and reception here. Descanso was a wonderful setting, there were several areas to choose from for the ceremony and the reception was held in a beautiful old craftsman building with an adjacent pergola patio area. the only draw back is the hours. For outdoor events the facility is only available 5pm -10pm for rental. www.descanso.com
The owners of the new Eagle Rock wine bar, Colorodo Wine Co, told us about The Wild Hare. It is adjacent to Eagle Rock and close to Occidental College, between Ave. 50 and 51 on the south side of York Blvd. Though I am not a beer fan myself they appeared to have, from what I understand, a nice selection of beer and belgian ales on tap. The wine list was a nice surprise. The have a variety of bar snacks and dessert available too. I recommend parking on Ave. 50 if you can't find a spot on York.
PROS: Good food, not too crowded
CONS: Parking - there isn't any
If you didn't know to look for it you might miss this gem. Tucked away in an industrial mall area this little tile and stone shop has some great deals on slate, granite and tumbled marble along with a large assortment of painted and glass tiles. We happened on it after visiting the lumber yard across the road (also worth a look).
PROS: Helpful friendly staff
CONS: Small store, hard to find, no slab yard
Hours as of 2/22/05

Nature's Pantry carries a wide variety of produce, groceries and nutritional supplements. They also have cosmetics, and a totally organic juice bar and deli.
Nothing special, but I think Rubio's is much better than most fast food. I usually order the Baja Chicken chopped salad. The dressing has just enough spice.
I highly recommend Jon Osborn's services. He is an enrolled agent which is the highest level of certification in the tax prep business. We have known him for over 10 years as an honest hard working individual. He has been a wonderful sounding board to us on both simple and complex tax issues regarding investments and savings. A&D also does bookkeeping level accounting reviews. The office is located between E & D street off the 215 fwy near Baseline.
The food here is simple but good. Lunch can be a bit crowded mid week but they seem to move people in and out fairly quick. I recommend any of the bowls for lunch.
My dentist recommended Dr. Chan to me when I needed a new retainer. It felt like deja vu going back to the orthodontist for the first time in years but the office staff was very nice and helpful. Though, busy, I have not had a difficult time scheduling appt's.
located in the aero-Convoy auto center
Be sure to stop by an ATM Pat & Lorraine's is CASH ONLY. Parking can be an issue when eating here. And their lot although small is a strange configuration and tough to maneuver in. I would recommend street parking. Breakfast and Lunch are served. The breakfasts are good, there is the usual eggs to waffles and also some mexican dishes that are very good.
