Travel Centers of America is off from exit 5 on Interstate 390. In this is a hotel (Days Inn) a restaurant (Buck Horn), gas station- small store and semi truck parking. Its like a big truck stop. In fact it used to be called Truck Stop. The restaurant is open 24 hours 7 days a week.. I have gone here many a times after going out for a few drinks--- and had breakfast or dinner at 2 AM... its really the only place that you can get a good meal at all times of the day. The food is ok... Its cheap- I especially like the breakfast buffet.. and the burgers are great too. The workers are good-- The service is fast! We have never had to wait long for any meal.. even when they are busy. You can get a sirloin steak and baby back ribs with a side dish for $11.99-- now its not as good as Roadhhouse but it is good. The hotels are cheap and clean-- there is parking out front of each room- I guess its a motel... I haven't stayed in one in years-- but it was ok ... there are not many hotels in Dansville. This gas station is one of the cheapest in town- I always get gas here-- They have recently switched to prepay only due to drive-offs.If you're looking for a place to grab some food at 2 am-- pop in here!
Minnehan's is a great place to go for the day to have fun-- and eat too. I had my daughters birthday party here last year. Cost was great and the kids had so much fun-They have batting cages, mini golf, race car and tracks (2 of them, 1 for older kids and adults, and 1 for little kids), bumper cars- this is all outside.. Inside they have all kinds of games that take tokens, a big ball pit and play area. They also have a restaurant-- with ice cream, pizza, burgers, wings, etc.The cost to me per kid was $12-- and they got to choose 2 outside activities and the ball pit and play area... plus pizza and pop.. This was a heck of a deal.I rode the race cars and the bumper cars--- what a great time..the only problem I had was they didn't have enough workers working so some kids had to wait to do the small cars while the others did the big cars.I have taken my daughter back several times since then- Its a cheap way to have a fun filled family day!
Outlook Verizon was the first place I went to check out new cell phones a few months back. I was so not impressed. There was only 1 person working. There were 3 people ahead of me. I watched this man work and the whole time I thought-- Man is he unprofessional and I got the idea he really did not know what he was talking about- So up came my turn- I was in a jam and needed to buy 2 phones and take them with me that night- I was going on a shopping trip and needed them by the next day. I asked several questions-- I didn't get too many answers.. and the answers I got were incorrect. Luckily I had already done my research and knew Verizon was the way to go.When it came time to talk about the phones they had to offer- I became totally disgusted and left. Phoneless! Sure they had a great selection of cell phones on the walls--- and then there was pricing with the phones-- but did the prices match what he was trying to sell me? NO.. I finally agreed on 2 same phones and said I want to take these tonight- Problem... they did not have any in stock--- They would be in probably in 3 days! So I asked which phones did they have in stock- No 2 phones the same??How can you be a cell phone dealer with no phones in the stores??At this time I said thank you but I'll check out the place in Geneseo.I would not recommend this dealer- They are very unprofessional from their attire, to their manners.
I love a great fish fry- My family tends to go out at least 2 Fridays out of the month for fish fries. We happened on Java Jungle when the Moose club was full. It was the first time I had ever eaten there- The decor was cute-- They have jungle theme animals, trees, and the walls are painted like you are in a jungle. So I thought ok its cute-- how is the food. We all ordered fish frys. We got french fries and cole slaw. The cole slaw was so gooooddd! I am real picky on cole slaw and this was the best I had ever gotten when ordering out. The fish was big and very tasty. We got 2 adult and 1 childs. The childs was a bit small so I ended up giving some of mine to my daughter.. The service was very fast! It was busy in there and we were still served with our food within 20 minutes- The floor was a bit dirty from heavy traffic. Could have used a quick vacuum.. But before we left a girl came out and started to sweep it up.. So I'm pretty sure it was just from the dinner rush.I was impressed with my meal and service- The prices were also great! Cheaper than the Moose club.... You get more choices at the Moose club. But I would recommend the Java Jungle.
I just recently bought my cell phone through Christiano Cellular.. I was on the fence with what carrier to choose. I went into Christiano's and they sold me on Verizon. For starters I was able to get 2 phones (both camera, flip) for $50.. that's $25 each. I bought the family share plan.Justin (the sales associate) was great! He was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all my questions. The store is great- They had many cell phones to choose from. And they had them in the store- Unlike the Dansville Verizon dealer. They also had lots of accessories for the phones. Bluetooth items, headsets, chargers, etc.The store was well lit and very clean.I was sold on Verizon and am very glad I went here- the whole process took less than 30 minutes to get 2 phones- sign up for a plan-- answer my questions and activate my phones- I was on my way!I would highly recommend.
Club 57 is a great place to go eat out.. or out for a drink at the bar- This place just screams class! There are big booths for sitting and dressy tables as well. I love coming here to eat dinner. They have amazing appetizers- I love the french onion soup-- its has a piece of cheese melted over the top-- its quite heavenly.. I have never ordered a bad meal! I usually get the steak- its thick and juicy.. and melts in your mouth-- and the potatoes are wonderful... mashed or baked.. and your dinner is always served with steamed veggies-The first time we went here over the summer- I got the chicken cordon blue-- Honestly this was the best I have ever had!The portions are huge--- I am never able to finish my whole meal... The ribs are the best around too-- there are Baby Back, and St. Louis style-- full rack and half racks-- Both are wonderful! The servers are wonderful--- Very polite and helpful.. but the food is slow-- Usually because it is so busy! You are delivered a loaf of homemade bread with garlic butter--- Oh my-- and the salads are big..The only down side is it is a bit expensive to eat here-- The drinks are like $6.50 for some-- I ordered a long island ice tea-- wowsa-- $6.50.. then I stuck to pop.SO if you're looking for somewhere special- go here--- If you're looking for somewhere cheap- Don't..I highly recommend Club 57... and my daughter loves it too!
I like to go to the Farmers Kitchen for lunch. Its a cute little restaurant located right on the main drag of Wayland heading out of town towards Hornell. The decor is cute--- they have salt and pepper shakers on shelves.. and pictures on the walls (the wallpaper is pictures) of animals. So it keeps the kids amused while waiting for your food. The service here is great! I never have to wait for a refill.. and the food is really good- I usually always get a hamburger and fries-- but do get the desert-- there is always some sort of pie-- and its the best in town. The prices are very good--- A nice family dinner for 3 of us usually costs less than $30... thats a plus in my book... Plus its a very casual restaurant- people come in dressed up or in jeans. This is my favorite restaurant in Wayland. I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for good family home cooked food!
The powers Inn club located on Rte. 36 in Dansville is an ok place to go. I would say to not bring kids here except for raffles and early chicken wing dinners. This is one of the few places in Dansville- where people can still smoke inside- Unsure how or why? SO its always smokey---There is a dance floor, a bar and bar stools, pool table, and dart board- Once in a great while we go here for a few drinks and play darts. Drinks are cheap..The crowd is rural for a lack of nicer word. Many nights end up with a fight-I do go here for the chicken wings-- early.. on thursday nights-- It is pretty calm then. and the wings are really good. I also try to make it to the turkey raffles... Cant stay long though due to smoke. If you're looking for a place to hang out with some friends-- I'd say go to Jack's in town. If you're looking for good wings in Dansville- Come here on thursday night.
This used to be a video /game rental and laundromat all in one- Now due to Blockbuster-- its just a laundromat. There used to be people who worked here so it was safer--- Now there are no people working but there are video cameras. It used to have 2 tv's.. one for kids and a kids area.. and one above the dryers for the adults. Now there are none. But it is still the cleanest laundromat in town. and the most safe too...There is a detergent bar where you can purchase laundry detergent, bleach, fabric softner. And a pop machine... There is also a money changer-- gotta have them quarters.I used to rent movies here-- but no more--As I said its the cleanest laundromat-- not sure who cleans it or when.. and with the video cameras.. Its the safest too. This is the laundromat I would recommend in Dansville.
Ok so my review is mixed on this company. I went in here looking for a great deal on a pool at the end of the season. The store is small so there are no pools set up to look at- as alot of the bigger stores have pool for you to see. The showroom does have alot of hottubs to view. I wasn't looking for a hottub. The gentleman (didn't get his name) was very nice but arrogant at the same time. You mean a pool for next year at this years prices. I said sure since you don't have any to sell that are floor models. He gave me the price and guaranteed I would be one of the first pool put in in the spring. The price was good but the price for installation and delivery was high! I asked why is it so high?I must say that they are great to work with- because he said I could pay a certain amount a week until it was paid off or pay however I decided. It was just to hold the price the same- I was impressed with this-I have yet to order but am pretty sure I will end up getting it here - more because if something goes wrong with it-- I live in Dansville so its close! But I would rather see the pool I am purchasing up to get an idea how big it is etc.So for friendly service, this is a good place--but if you want to see what you're buying- try the bigger stores in Rochester.
