I'm not too keen on this place, especially since it claims to be great authentic style Mexican food. After trying Anna's Taqueria, it falls VERY short to what you'd expect in Mexican food. Bland burritos with sometimes questionable meat.
I'm from the west coast, and have yet to taste a more authentic style of mexican food anywhere in Boston. The location in Brookline is ALWAYS busy, but they move quickly enough that the line is never too much of a wait. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck love this place, as well they should! The tacos are great.
I had a friend that attended Bay State College and absolutely loved it. He said that even though it was small, he quickly made a close group of friends that he knew would last a long time.
I had to accompany a friend to this location, and we were greeted with very welcoming smiles. They were discrete as always, quick to help my friend with everything she needed, and offered more answers to her questions than a normal doctor would have the time to give.
I picked this nail place basically "out of a hat" when deciding where to get my acryllics touched up. They actually did a fabulous job, and it was very quick too! Reasonably priced.
I have had many friends that have helped out at the childcare services at BU. They love the children and say they are extremely bright (as most are professors' children), and love most of the permanent staff as well. The only downside is the location. If you've ever looked at the area the children are kept in, it looks like a miniature prison with iron bars to keep the little ones in!
Even though they are a little pricey compared to other second hand shops i've been to outside the city, you can ALWAYS find something cool and funky at Planet Aid. They have more than just clothes too. I picked up an old record of this awesome artist I love for only 25 cents!
This place absolutely rocks. They've always got a section of cds for a dollar, and you can find just about any artist throughout the store. The best part is the quaint, very grungy music shop feel, complete with live music that usually features local college students.
The shows at Nick's are always great, and at pretty good prices as well! The only con is that they try to cram more people into the room than will fit comfortably. A lot of fun though!
Though they recently raised their prices, the AMC Fenway is still cheaper for students than any other movie theater. An added bonus at this location is the midnight movie, featured every friday and saturday during a regular school year. They give away prizes, ask trivia, and get the crowd excited before the movie begins. Be forewarned though: Get their early! Many of the midnight movies fill up before 11:30.
