This is a nice new hotel in Vegas with a just-right location. You can usually get special rates that make Aladdin pretty affordable for the quality of room and service. The hotel itself is kind of dull compared to some of the other casinos and the table minimums are so high they encourgaed us to head out to other casinos for a livelier environment or lower minimums.
Sill, nice clean rooms, great beds and bathrooms. Word of Warning: if you valet park you could possibly wait at least an hour on a Sunday morning for your car. It's still worth free valet parking, just drop off your valet ticket, then get yourself a quick breakfast while you wait.
My wife and I stayed here a couple times because we got really excellent rates. The last time we said, "Why do we keep coming here? Let's spend the extra 25 bucks a night and stay at a nicer hotel!" The Excalibur is a little past its prime. The rooms are in need of renovations and the carpets have that faint smell of smoke even in your non-smoking room. Just stay across the street at Luxor for a little more money and experience the difference. However, the Excalibur is a great place for the home-game poker player to make the move to playing at the tables in Vegas. They have some really cheap buy-in Texas Hold-em tables. Had a great time staying at another hotel, but going to Excalibur for poker!
This location is a deemed a 'Super-Sport' meaning it has all the extras that many 24-hour Fitness clubs don't have. You pay for it, but you have access to nicer locker rooms, raquetball courts, steam room, etc. It's a nice higher-end gym.
I had a tire repaired here on my RAV4. I didn't have an appointment, but they took care of me like it was no problem. I worked a few blocks away and the car was ready in a few hours. Great service and, as a nice bonus, they didn't try to upsell me by telling me that there just happened to be another 10 things wrong with the vehicle that had to be replaced 'urgently'.
We've had our two Toyotas regularly serviced here over the past 8 years. The have an outstanding team of service reps who are extremely courteous, professional and well-informed. They offer a free shuttle service to take you to work or home in the area while your car is being worked on. I often feel I'm being ripped off when I go to a mechanic, but I never get any pressure to get additional work done. They've very understanding of your budget and are honest as to the severity of any recommended fixes.
PROS: Trusted work, excellent customer service
CONS: It's a dealership so prices are as expensive as you'd expect
Anthony manages to get incredible, professional shots regardless of weather and shooting conditions. He specializes in headshots, weddings, portraits, production stills and corporate events. I've hired him several times to shoot publicity stills and portraits. His rates are extremely affordable. You can't lose.
This is like no flower store or shop I've ever been in. I've walked through their large showroom a few times and am always impressed by what they're able to do with their flower arrangements. My business regularly calls J.M. when we need a last-minute thank-you or birthday gift for a client. At this point, we just say "something nice" and we have total confidence that what they prepare will wow our client.
Located a few a few steps from the Media Center, this tiny storefront is full of vintage movie posters and used books. They have a fantastic selection of magazine issues going back decades.
This small store is crammed with as much merchandise as it can fit, but it makes finding just the right item a doubtful long-shot. For big projects, I have to drive to the big warehouse hardware stores. I come here when I need an item or two around the house and am pressed for time.
PROS: Quick trip, good service
CONS: Limited inventory
This is a great place to stay in Chicago, especially if you can get a good rate. Located right on the river, near the lake. Great rooms with gorgeous views, easy access to shopping and sights in the Loop and the excellent customer service you'd expect from a 4-star Sheraton hotel. They've got an indoor pool so bring your swimsuit year-round.
