Saint Marys Chinese Day School is made up primary of Asian students, so there demographic isn't that diverse. The academic performance leaves a bit to be desired, and just doesn't seem to have the verse preparatory performance that other private schools provide. They do offer a sense of community, however the price of this community, is a second tier education.
Pet Source is a great place to add an addition to the family. They have hamsters, and they have parrots and a wide variety of pet supplies. They also have a pet wash area, and have a very knowledgeable staff. One of the nicer, and well knowledgeable staff, which can go through the prospective pets history. The pets also seem well maintained, a lot more active then the ones at Petco. The prices are a bit high, however for a local pet retailer, there one to keep an eye on. Terrific place to shop.
B & B Pet Supplies is a fairly small pet supplies store. They offer a tremendous amount of cat, and dog food products, and are fairly good priced for a non major retailer. They have a large number of toys, and bones for your pet to play with, and are very clean for the sector that they cater to. Parking is semi difficult, as its on one of the busier streets in San Francisco, and the store is a little cramped. However, the staff is extremely nice, and helpful. If your in the area stop by and have a gander.
Spectrum Peripherals is a little computer shop that does repairs. They helped install another hard drive, and helped back up my laptop. The repair man was very nice and courtesy, and offered some suggestion to prevent future problems from arising. Although, not all the parts were available at that time, they offered competitive brick and mortar pricing.
One of the nicer independent bookstores in San Francisco. They offer a wide range of books, along with events where you may find your fav author to sign your book. They offer quite a unique blend of adult themed books, and books for the children. There selection of children books are quite delightful, and a joy to bring the kids to. There store isn't as open as say a major retailer such as Boarders, however it does the job, and there staff is quite knowledgeable.
The Booksmith is a great place, to find well known writers, during there book signings, and niche books. The bookstore offers a wide range of topics, and seems very well stocked. The staff is manageable, although they seem on a short leach on time sometimes. If your into meeting your fav writers, check out there web site, for the latest dates for a booking signing.
Trader Joes is located from nearby Toys r Us, offers a very nice shopping experience. They offer competitive prices on a wide range of produce, and wines. There market is quite clean, and have a wide range of staff that is always helpful, and courtesy. It's one of my fav places to find wine at reasonable prices. They also have a small but adequate parking lot. Lines also move fairly fast, and timely. They also have sample offerings that let you sample some of there new products, and many organic produces to choose from. If you can't make it to Whole Foods, this is another alternative to the larger chain markets.
One of the larger seller of Asian related goods in the Richmond district. They offer a wide range of veggies, canned goods, meats, that are quite fresh and offer competitive prices. They are often pretty busy, but are often timely in there service. It's very difficult to find parking in that area during the weekends, however public transportation is widely available throughout the area. If your in the area stop by, and you won't be disappointed.
Ida B. Wells is a continuation school for those with were shifted from there original high school, to either make up credits in order to graduate, or had unsatisfactory grades in high school. There schedules are a bit different from standardize high schools, and offer very little perks, and seem more of a detention facility, due to the lack of funding, and lack of programs. I would recommend this as a last resort for your child, and hopefully take other options such as going to City College John Adams during the summer to make up lost units.
Demakas is a very good company that services our complex needs. We call them whenever there is a structural leak, or when there's a plumbing fixture that needs to be patched. They have done a fairly good job most of the time they've been called to service our building, however they do spend a lengthy amount of time servicing our plumbing issues. They have a very friendly staff, along with professional service, however you may need to wait a while before the whole problem is resolved.
