Went in to try the potato soup people rave about. Ordered pizza to share with the kids and a bowl of soup. The soup never came at all. The pizza was nothing to write home about, just average. The crust is more dry/crackery, not soft. Kind of pricey. Won't go back.
The CREHST museum is a very nice attraction for those interested in the history of the Richland/Hanford area and the science being used on the Hanford site. Go back to the days of the Wanapum Indian tribe as you look at displays of their clothing, foods, tools, and toole mat homes. Read and hear about the days when Lewis and Clark came on the Columbia to our local area. See paintings and scuptures as well as scientific models. You can learn about the development of the city of Richland and the Hanford Project. There is something for everyone at the CREHST museum. However this is not really an exhibit for small children. Kids who are interested in nature and science will enjoy the exhibits from the age of about 8 or 10 and up. It is not a place to run and play, but a place to learn. The exhibits are well done and very educational, and the staff is knowledgable about the history and science of the area. The cost is very low and the atmosphere is relaxed. It is not usually crowded, and is close to the Columbia River and the adjascent Howard Amon Park, so plan to take a leisurely walk along the river after your visit to the museum. All in all a great value.
Builders Hardware generally sells to contractors and does locksmithing work for large businesses. They have a nice selection of products in a clean storefront with a very cute friendly cat on hand. The staff is intelligent and friendly. The in-house locksmith is one of the best locksmiths in the nation. He can take care of any project and help your business with its locksmithing needs. Whether keying locks for a large campus or corporation or just making key sets for a few doors, he is your man. This locksmith also has a vast array of knowledge of pandas and folk singers that will knock your socks off. The prices are reasonable and service is excellent. I highly recommend Builders Hardware and its top notch locksmith.
I have attended WSU Tri-Cities for three years and have recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree. I thoroughly enjoyed attending this University. There is a wide variety of classes available, both on campus and over the Internet. The professors are generally very knowledgable and easy to work with. I especially enjoyed my science classes because the professors were actual scientists during the day and taught classes at night, or were retired from a scientific field. The class sizes were usually small, for a more personal class experience. The staff was generally helpful in getting registered for classes and finding financial aid. The campus is alongside the Columbia river, providing a nice place to walk or sit between classes or during lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and not rushed, and people are usually friendly. There is sometimes an poerating small cafeteria, but proprietorship changes hands frequently so you are not always guaranteed a cafeteria meal. There are vending machines as well. I would recommend this campous for a very good education. I only wish they would offer more variety of classes during the day, and offer more masters and doctorate programs.
When I had to take my baby for a hearing exam, I was pretty stressed out. But the people at Hearing Healthcare were very kind and friendly. They were gentle with my baby and even gave her the hearing test while she was asleep! The office is clean and bright, and the equiptment they used looked modern and sophisticated. I was so happy when my baby passed the hearing test. It was a pleasant experience dealing with very nice people in a stressful situation.
I love to go to Ariel Gifts during the holiday season. The shop is always decorated so nicely and has a festive holiday feel. They have a nice selection of cookware and other cooking supplies, but the main attraction for me is the gourmet food. Whether for yourself or as a gift, the delicious and unique products at Ariel's are fun to purchase and even more fun to eat! There are candies and cookies, mixes and spices, cans and packages of smoked salmon, soup mixes and jars of specialty mustards and pickled vegetables. There is something for everyone's taste. You can always find a gift here for the hard-to-shop-for person on your list, even children. The service is great as well. The only reason I don;t give 5 stars is that on some products the prices are quite steep (but on some things, they are very reasonable). This shop is definately worth a visit.
Unfortunately, I have had a lot of experience with having my van towed. Sometimes I have been broken down on the road, and other times it has broken down at home in my driveway. Every time I have used R & R Towing they have made it as pleasant as a towing experience can be. The drivers are polite and helpful. They come quickly after being called, and they file the insurance paperwork for you. They have the trucks and equiptment available to tow your vehicle safely and will give you a ride to your destination. Their rates are fair. One time I thought my van needed a new starter. When the tow truck came to take it to the shop, the driver took the time to look at my vehicle and listen to it. He told me he didn;t think it was the starter. Even though I had already tried to jump start it, he hooked my van to his tow truck and was able to jump start it. He saved me a lot of time and money since all I needed was a new battery, and I was able to drive to get it instead of being towed. Very nice and fair company!
I have had my home carpets cleaned by Williams Carpet Cleaning twice. They use hot water extraction which is hooked to a huge pump and vaccum in their van. The workers have been friendly and pleasant. They work hard to get the stains out and do an excellent job even if some areas are dirtier than others. Their prices are very good as well, and they get your entire home's carpets cleaned in one afternoon. I was very pleased with the results.
Accent signs is a small business run by a very nice, honest man. The artwork is very neat and nicely done. They have state-of-the-art software and machinery for engraving plaques and trophies. They engrave on metal or wood and the results are outstanding. Their prices on teams sports trophies are competitive and they get the work done in a timely manner. I have gotten children's team sports trophies at Accent Signs several times, as well as some plaques custom made for the coaches, and have been really impressed with the products. Nice people to do business with.
I enjoy going to C & M Landscaping to look at the various types of trees, shrubs and flowers they have for sale. I have bought several small trees from them which have now grown into large healthy trees in my yard. I paid a fair price and am very happy with my purchases. I also bought some landscaping bark and am happy with the price. The service was good and the staff was able to answer my questions about which trees would be best in various environments.
