We discovered Cocoa Bon chocolates while they were selling at The Mountain Winery and have been fans ever since. They sell high quality chocolates in a variety of flavors like gingerbread and Chai caramel. So yummy and the little tins make perfect gifts!
While candy isn't cheap at Sweet Factory, the variety is irresistible! They have all the candies from your childhood like gummy bears, Swedish fish, and licorice laces as well as endless varieties of jelly bellies and every other gummy candy you can think of. This place is my one stop shopping destination at the holidays for candies to decorate gingerbread houses - they have it all!
Godiva is the place to go when you want a gift that is sure to impress. While the candy is delicious, presentation is everything here and the boxes they sell are gorgeous!
See's Candy is a local legend for good reason. They sell delicious chocolates in enough variety to suit even the pickiest eater. Every holiday they stock a huge selection of items in every price range and they still give everyone who walks through the door a full size sample to munch on while they shop. YUM!
Raging waters is a great place to take the kids on a hot day. It can get very crowded, so I recommend going early in the day. We had my daughter's birthday party there and it was the easiest birthday party ever!
The Disney Store is a must stop for Disney fans. They stock a variety of clothing, toys, costumes, and gifts featuring the best loved Disney characters. Their sales are amazing - you can pick up first quality Disney merchandise for a fraction of the original cost. They also have seasonal lines of matching outfits (usually in summer and at the holidays) that can make for some very cute family vacation photos.
The Winchester Mystery House is one if those places that everyone should see at least once. It's fascinating to visit this strange mansion and learn the story of the owner's life as she added strange and bizarre features to the house before her death. There are doors that lead nowhere, little tiny stairwells, and plenty of creepy lore to interest everyone on the family.
We took some out-of-town guests to Bonfante Gardens this summer and enjoyed it so much that we bought season's passes. It's definitely not for adrenaline junkies - the rides are gentle rather than heart pounding - but it was a clean and friendly place to spend the day. The kids especially liked the water areas where they could cool off in sprinklers and waterfalls.
While it's a little pricey for everyday food shopping, Whole Foods has a nice selection of specialty items. The employees are very friendly and helpful.
If you've ever gotten a Chicos catalog and liked what you saw, check out this store. They pack an amazing amount of clothing and accessories into a small space and the staff is efficient if you need assistance.
