Clarke's is a prissy little restaurant with great food. They do take reservations and the wait at lunch can be discouraging so make a reservation. The service is wonderful and the food is far from ordinary. It is flavorful and unique.
This is a cute little British import shop with a tea room. Any non perishable food items from England can be found here as well as a few perishables that are in the freezer. Sit down in the tea room and enjoy a cup or pot of tea with a light snack or lunch
I have only visited Skinsational a couple of times but was satisfied with the results. They are a bit more expensive than others. Try the hot rock massage and hot rock foot massage - both are wonderful!
From the outside, this is a deceptively small shop. It actually is on 3 floors and they have lots more than just luggage. This is the place to go for those nice business gifts as a "thank you". There are tons of ideas for many other gift occasions as well
It is a real treat to explore this gallery. The layout and displays are such that everything can be viewed to best advantage. All of the works are absolutely stunning and you would be pleased to have any of them in your house. There is a wide variety of styles and media and the people who work here are delightful.
When I lived in San Diego I absolutely lived at Mary's. All things horses are at this shop, no matter what your venue is. And all her help are equestrians themselves. Half the very large store is devoted to horses downstairs and all of the upstairs are horsey things too. Half the bottom is devoted to cats and dogs and other pets and farm animals. Be sure to look at the bulletin board outside - I've made a few "finds" there.
I never miss visiting Buddy's when I'm in town. They have alot of unusual items for dogs and cats, all high quality and many are unique. If you are buying a present for someone else, get it here if you want to make sure the recipient doesn't already have it. And if it's for you, all your neighbors won't have one already!
Most of the clothing at Adonments is one of a kind or limited edition art-to-ware. The clothing is lovely and it's a treat to walk around and see what is being produced these days. All of it is very wearable; not just to look at. Ocassionally there is a sale rack with good finds on it.
The Book Works has been around for ages and with good reason! It is a comfy store with the feel of an old library. They have many books and offer readings and other activities. You'll find the tables outside and chairs inside overflowing on a Saturday and Sunday, many with mugs of coffee from next door.
Acanthus is well worth a browsing trip. Their antiques are top of the line (and priced accordingly). The quality is very good and Acanthus is staffed with polite knowledgeable sales people. Take your time looking around; there's no pressure in this shop. And if you're looking for that special piece, this is your best bet for finding it.
