I urge you to never use this dry cleaner. They have lost a jacket and pants for my husband, and a beautiful swede dress, I am still angry about both these losses, and can't believe I went back to them again after they lost the jacket and slacks! I knew they sent out the swede orders and I thought I could be safe with this. When I dropped it off, they said it would take 6 weeks or more and I needed to be patient. I came back in 2.5 months, and they said they do not hold items for that long and they "got rid of the dress!" I could not believe it and asked why they bother to take our phone number if they do not call owners, and they just shrugged. I think they have someone very dishonest working for them and would never recommend going there.
If you are a visitor in town and need a good dry cleaner close to the shopping district, Silverado Cleaners is a good option for you. If you live here and can drive elsewhere, I think you will get better pricing and the same quality of work at any number of other dry cleaners in town. The parking is tough as they are in a busy part of the village, but there is a 15 minute lane in front (though quite often it is full!)
I have only once received a group email urging me to not ever use a business because of dishonest business practices, and it was for this business. They ruined the carpet in my friends car, and then would not take responsibility for it in any way. I had used them once before this incident, and found them pricey and poor at estimating their completion times, so it was no sacrifice to stop using them. I would not recommend a business that does not stand behind its work.
This Pacific Beach Car wash is pretty good for the price they charge and do a decent job. The price does not include the inside, so you have to specify you want an auto detailing if you want them to vacuum and clean inside. There is a coffee shop and flower stand nearby, so it is a cute area to wait while your car is done. I would recommend them.
This is an automated car wash that costs a lot more than most, so I would not recommend them. There is no one there to help you if there is a problem with the token machine and no one to help make sure you back wipers don't get pulled down or to help with bad dirt spots. I recommend going elsewhere if you are looking for an auto car wash.
I used this cleaners several times, and then stopped going there because they lost a few items. Each time they denied it, and even tried to tell me their own paperwork was wrong and wanted me to believe them. They never replaced the value of anything they lost. I would never recommend going there.
Kiki's is a pretty good tailor shop. She seems to take longer than some places to do alterations, but she does a good job and her prices seem to be in line with most other local tailors. The parking on Fay in front of her building is fairly good, and you should not have to walk too far. I would recommend her.
This tailor has odd business hours and it is sometimes hard to find her in, but she does great work and best of all, will do the fine work that is required to repair moth holes in your favorite cashmere or wool clothing. The cost is not inexpensive for this repair, but if you really love the item, it is worth it and the quality is good. She is a little hard to find, you park in the lot behind Jane's Fabrique and she is located right next door to the alley entrance of Jane's. Call first, as her hours are not typical.
John is a great tailor who does fast, quality work and is reasonably priced. He has creative ideas about difficult projects, and will take on anything from evening gowns to suits to bedskirts. Parking is easy, and this part of Girard is not so congested as the shopping district. I highly recommend John and have used him for years.
I have taken a few things to this tailor and she is good, but very overpriced. She also tried to make me pay twice - once when I dropped it off and then when I picked it up! She is located down a little alley and there is absolutely no parking anywhere close to her, and there are signs on the alley to beware of having your car towed. Overall, there are better priced tailors and I would not recommend her.
