This place is a rare find. Ice cream made on site and served any way you want. The hard yogurt is creamy and taste better than any low fat ice cream I have ever eaten. The banana boat is delicious.
A BC favorite, and one of mine.
I stroll by this place all the time and figured it was time for me to walk on in and get some fresh fish. From the outside you see fresh, clean fish, scallops and shrimp. Inside, it looks like a place that has not been redecorated since the 1950s. It is simple and clean with friendly staff. I loved it. Check out the old school register too.
I purchased the wild salmon and the taste does not compare to anything else I bought. It is a little more expensive, but worth every penny.
This little bakery is an absolutely an incredible gem located in a residential neighborhood. The bread is freshly baked daily and their website lets you know what breads and pastries are available each day. The rolls are wonderful! They also make exquisite pies, cakes and mouth melting chocolate macaroons! Yummmmmm
Roadhouse BBQ and The Publick House are owned by the same people. The Roadhouse BBQ opened this September in Brookline. I attempted to eat at the restaurant when it first opened, but found that the wait was over two hours. Luckily for me, I was able to get a seat quickly by going a little earlier on a Friday night. The beer is just as awesome as the Publick House and the food as delicious. I had the onion ring appetizer and boy, those were really good. I also enjoyed a flavorful pulled chicken sandwich. Amazing flavor with just the right amount of spiciness. My husband had the 1/2 rack of pork ribs with mac and cheese. The 1/2 rack is a huge portion and delicious, so we have lots of yummy leftovers. Mac and cheese is good but not the same as the Publick House. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to attend to its customers. Menu items: pulled pork, chicken, ribs, brisket, corn bread (plain and jalapeno), grilled fish, etc. If you are in the area, this place is worth a visit.
Twin Do-Nuts is more than just a donut shop. They also serve a varied breakfast starting at 4am! So if you are searching for an early breakfast, this is definitely the place to go. They are famous for their breakfast sandwiches, which are cheap, fast and tasty. The donuts are darn good, too.
Are you tired of having the same over manufactured donut? I am. I was introduced to Dinky Donuts on a vacation in Vermont. My husband and I discovered the two owners at the Burlington farmer's market and were astonished by the amazing flavor and texture of the donuts!
Definitely check out their website and support them. We need good donuts back! The yummy, fresh homemade doughnut.
My husband loves pizza and when he learned from the lady at the bed and breakfast about American Flatbread - he was sold.
So we waited almost two hours to have dinner on a crowded, fall Saturday night. The food was well worth it. The salad with goat cheese and the pizza was great. All local and fresh Vermont ingredients.
And to make things event better -- you can find the pizza at the Whole Foods! I still have no idea how they make the frozen version so darn good. So check your Whole Foods frozen section, or visit Vermont when you have a chance.
The burritos are glorious and delicious. The nice thing about it is that they have a buritto cart out in Downtown Crossing during lunch time. I walk there all the time. The medium steak or chicken colorado are superb, and always at a reasonable price of $5.50.
Fabulous street food!
This place is awesome. Some of the best pizza you can find in the BC area. If you have not tried it, definitely go. The prices are great and the pizza is fantastic. It is not much to look at, but you will not be disappointed. This is definitely a take-out sort of place.
Brown Sugar Cafe was introduced to me almost eight years ago. The food is amazing! I love the papaya salad, the tom yum soup, pineapple fried rice, the mango chicken and oh that Thai ice tea! As you can see, I have tried quite a bit of their menu. It is highly recommended. Although the restaurant is top notch, the sister restaurant in Cambridge is not as good. Definitely opt for the Commonwealth location, but be weary of high volume times. The service is amazing, but you may feel a bit rushed. If you go at lunch on a weekend, you can sit and relax and take your time.
