This French restaurant is walking distance from the Financial District and, although a bit high-priced, is a great place to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion.
I'm not big on Southeastern Asian Cuisine (which is what they advertise themselves as) but I see this more as 'fusion' than anything. Right on Union Square, it's walking distance from most of the hotels, and the atmosphere and staff are great!
...although my friend took his aunt there (who is from Germany) and she asked "why does everyone think we live like farmers?" - referring to the large tables and benches (you eat at a table with perfect strangers). My favorite thing there is the schnitzel. During Oktoberfest plan to wait over an hour, or call 2 weeks ahead for a reservation - it's worth it!
I totally agree with the previous review. You either love it or hate it. And I love it! Yes, it's cafeteria style and you're eating on benches, but that's the charm of it.
On Fisherman's Wharf, you'd think that Scoma's is just another restaurant for tourists. However, as far as seafood goes, this is a great place, with fairly easy parking. Nice red snapper.
...If not a little pricey. It was great food and great service, within walking distance of the Civic Center area. I especially enjoyed the privacy of the "booths."
Great Irish pub with a fun atmosphere. We were there on a night where we saw a woman on stage - stopped to listen, and this deep voice came out of her mouth! Good times all around.
This dentist is really a "they:" Two brothers who I have received treatment from - both were able to work on my teeth without nitrous (which I rely on heavily due to my sensitivity). Highly recommended!
Yes - I know that North Beach is supposed to have the best pizza in San Francisco, but I still took the bus from Union Square down to Clement Street just to have the pizza and bruschetta from this place. I'm still trying to find somewhere in my home city that can compare.
Wow! I go out to Clement street for 2 things: Pizza, and Mac & Cheese from Q. They have other great dishes here, but that one is by far my favorite. Definitely one to try if you're in the Richmond.
