I went here at the end of the season and was very pleased with the sales that they were having. The plants were not in great shape at this point but I got a few really nice planters for cheap.
I went into this store needed a few basic party items. The store is not well-organized, and they were out of some of the things I needed. I would have asked someone for help but there was no one around. Very disappointing.
They have a pretty good selection of wines and hard liquor and the service is very good. I was amused at being carded (I'm well over 21) but it's a good thing that they are so thorough!
The store is small but they have a pretty good selection of wine and hard liquor. Some of their stuff seems to have been sitting on the shelf a long time and the prices are not always clear, so I only purchased the major items I needed (vodka).
Orva recently changed their store and now they only sell shoes. I really liked the old store - they were great for hosiery and accessories, and I got all my gym clothes there. The new store has a wide selection of shoes, much more than they used to but a lot of the same brands. I wear Merrell and Dansko for work a lot, and they carry both those brands.
Taroo is a cute, trendy little clothing store. It's got a similar feel to a lot of other "trendy" stores in the city but seems to focus on comfortable clothes - tees and cotton. It can be expensive but the clothes and accessories can be worth it.
I've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed it. The restaurant doesn't look like much but the sushi is always fresh and the services is pretty good too.
I have taken my bike to Larry and Jeff's several times over the years and am always pleased with the service I get. The people working there are experts with bikes and always have suggestions for what I need. I am not a serious biker but they don't treat me any differently than their "regulars".
Likitsakos is part grocery, part farmer's market, part cafe. They have some everyday items, though are much better known for having fresh produce and lots of Mediterranean prepared foods like dips, salads, and desserts. My favorite is the tzatziki dip.
I had a few dresses altered here and was very pleased. The quality of work was great and she had to go back in and re-alter something and didn't charge me. My only complaint is that it took a long time to complete and priority is given when you need the item, not when you dropped off.
