I had my first appointment with Lynn this week. She was very down to business, but personable. She wasn't the warm, nurturing type of midwife, but obviously very knowledgeable about birth and pregnancy.
I love coming to Suite Dreams just to look around. We bought our rocker and ottoman for our nursery from here. It is the most comfy chair ever! We spent many a long night rocking our son in it. Now that my son is 2, he loves going in here with me and playing with toy kitchen and train table. They have nice gift items that are hard to find elsewhere. They have super cute IA and IA ST onesies as well as some locally made clothes too.
Hungry Hobo is an interesting place. I never love any of the sandwiches (except for the bbq beef, which they don't have any more), but I do like their fresh sides (potato salad, pudding, cake). I have heard (but never tried) that they have great baked potatoes.
Norm was our real estate agent when we sold our old house and bought our new one. He was great helping us buy. Our house was a little slow to move off the market and he didn't hold open houses very often or make a flyer. But, he was extremely nice and easy to work with. He was always available when we needed him.
Clorrisa was a great asset to our family during the birth of our son two years ago. She was nurturing and supportive and was my ally. She is a very caring person and I would highly recommend her as a doula.
I used to go here and see Chanda for my cuts/colors. I really liked her because she wasn't fake or nicey-nice. She didn't make me talk and have useless conversation, which I appreciate. I always liked her cuts/colors. I switched recently because I wanted a place closer to home. The style/decor is very cool, all black and red and the chairs and bowls are recycled from another salon.
If you drive through Early, you have to stop at this old hardware store. They have EVERYTHING and I mean everything. There are old washers and dryers that are by the window that are seriously 50 years old. If you need something obscure and out of the ordinary, just go there. They also have all new, normal hardware store items as well. The owners-Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, know where everything is located, although it is really cluttered.
This is a fun bar to head to and get away from the crowds! Located next to Hy-Vee in Johnston, there is plenty of space inside. The interior is nothing fancy, but they do have some stadium style seating for movies, maybe? I haven't ever seen movie night going on...
I have been here a few times. Once for a massage and once for a color and cut. The massage was good, but I wasn't crazy about the cut/color. My highlights weren't great. Tatum was the stylist, I think I will try someone nw next time. They also have a small boutique where they sell some jewelry, belts, tops and jeans.
This is the local bar in Early. Same crowd every evening, but they have plenty of beer and drinks. There is a pool table, so you don't have to just sit and drink. I think they have a kitchen (or did not too long ago) and make some fried things as well as frozen pizza.
