They came out to diagnose and fix the problem with our air conditioner in the dire heat of mid summer when no one else would AND they were very reasonable. We've since had them back routinely to service our unit. Would highly recommend.
John & Trish DeGraaf were wonderful to work with. The process from the initial call to the clean up after installation was quick and pleasant. The overall product is a very good value!
What an outstanding experience we had having our pool pump repaired at Perry's! It was very cheap, not nearly as bad as we were prepared for. Fast, friendly service!
PV Desert Rock has a great selection of landscape rock. They are fairly reasonable and will deliver in a very timely manner.
FYI, the two women that run the office, that you have to go into to order and pay, are chain smokers and the office is BLUE with smoke. The other thing to be aware of is to not allow the dump truck to back over your sidewalk. That causes the sidewalk to crack & they make you sign a clause beforehand that they will not be held liable. I'm sure that this is standard for anyone delivering such a heavy load. We had our landscape rock dumped in the street after spending $2 K for sidewalk repair - multiple damage over years.
Ky-Ko Roofing is the WORST! Initially there is a friendly, seemingly knowledgeable salesperson that comes to your home quickly & makes it seem like they will totally take care of you. As soon as you sign on the dotted line the nightmare begins. First of all they subcontract all of their work. The roofer that they assigned to our home NEVER showed up when he said he would. We'd be ready for him to be on the job by 6:30 AM as he'd said and he wouldn't show up for days. Then he would be up on the roof tearing things apart or hammering at 7 PM while we were having a dinner party. He left beer cans in our garbage and at the 'end' of the job he left tons of roofing tiles, bags of garbage, etc ON THE ROOF & never returned. I called Ky-Ko repeatedly and nobody ever showed up when they said they would. Finally after a week, I went up on the roof myself and cleaned the mess off. We hauled it away personally. About a week after that, they rang the door bell and before I could get to the door they'd left a door hanger that claimed the job done!!!! They said that we would have to personally sign off on the job when it was done to our satisfaction. We were furious! Days later, someone in the business office called and curtly asked my husband to call them. He was out of town at the time and I told them he was very busy but I would give him the message. Several days after that we got a call from the VP telling us they were going to put a lien on our house unless we signed off on the job as being done. This was the first that we were aware that the financing that we had procured would not pay them unless we signed off. Being young and naive and busy, my husband went in and signed off. When I was cooled off enough to speak, I called repeatedly and asked to speak with "Monty" the president of the company but he was always busy and so I had to leave a message. He finally called back one day when I was on a ladder painting the ceiling and it took me awhile to get to the phone. When I detailed the history of what we had gone through, how rude his VP had been to us and how OUTRAGEOUSLY poorly we were treated he said, "No, no, no (my VP) is really a very nice man" and then he asked me how old I was and told me that I really shouldn't be up on a ladder!
Ky-Ko Roofing should be avoided at all costs!
Dr. Shannon is certainly nice enough and the care she delivers is adequate but she is not the most knowledgeable. The office staff is very impersonal and the time from waiting room to being seen is ALWAYS long,
Dr. Alvarez-Thull is a caring, bright, fun-loving person. Her credo is to give each patient world class care. She can get a little distracted sometimes though.
Dr. Meline is probably technically a good doctor but he really lacks interpersonal skills. I've seen him 4 times and every time I had a LONG wait - often times more than an hour.
Dr. Lakin is the best doctor ever! He is extremely smart but so down-to-earth you think he is a mere mortal just like all of us...he's not though he is a deity. From the moment you step in the door and meet the front desk people, you know you are in a homey, welcoming place. Barbara Johnson, has worked for Dr. Lakin for over 15 yrs. The photos on the walls are all of staff, either with their pets or as they were as children. It leads one to the correct assumption that the staff & Dr. Lakin are very close - everyone seems very happy. Numerous plaques on the wall for "Top Doctor" for Dr. Lakin attest to the respect from his peers. Each exam room is decorated with puppets, books, cartoons & signed head-shots from movie stars. So while you're waiting, there are plenty of things to be entertained by. Dr. Lakin is warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of medicine. Its easy to contact him, easy to get an appointment and prescription refill requests can be done online. He's a wonderful man and an excellent physician.
Dr. Freedman is an outstanding professional who is also extremely knowledgeable, very easy to talk with and is flexible in his approach. I would highly recommend him without hesitation.
